SECONDS

This three-dimensional, hand-woven textile billboard explores a return to old places with fresh eyes. It reflects how individuals, places, ideas, and experiences weave in and out of our lives over time — amassing and dispersing. Each second, though seemingly insignificant, can hold immense power. They are moments where nothing happens, and everything changes, where opportunities are caught or lost. After 25 years in Los Angeles, I embark eastward, embracing the excitement and discomfort of new beginnings. The double ray is crafted by stripping, weaving and knotting repurposed vinyl billboards, held together with pairs of shoelace. It is both old and new, transformed yet familiar. This is my visual love letter to LA, a city of beauty and complexity."
